1.12.0 — Chess Olympiads, a new landing page and 12 languages

The headline of this release is the Chess Olympiads section: every edition since 1927, an all-time medal table and full coverage of Samarkand 2026. The landing page was rebuilt around what Chess Platform actually is — a platform layer for chess, not another chess site. Sign-in got three fixes that mattered in practice, and the interface now speaks 12 languages.

Chess Olympiads

A new section — an encyclopedia of the World Chess Olympiads: all 55 editions since 1927, a page for each one, an all-time medal table computed from the podiums themselves, and full coverage of the upcoming 46th Olympiad in Samarkand (15–27 September 2026). The section is open to everyone, including signed-out visitors, and is available in all 12 languages.

A landing page about the platform

The home page no longer sells a set of features. It states the thesis: Chess Platform is an infrastructure layer that clubs, federations, coaches and tournaments plug into. Store badges now use the official vendor artwork, and the outro block shows real devices instead of abstract badges.

Sign-in, fixed three times

  • Google asks which account to use again, instead of silently reusing the last one.

  • The OAuth session now reliably reaches the browser, and a failed sign-in says so out loud rather than looping in silence.

  • The mobile sign-in form is accessible, resizes together with the native Telegram widget, and uses official provider artwork.

Twelve languages

German, French, Uzbek, Turkish, Ukrainian and Brazilian Portuguese were added to both the web app and the Telegram Mini App. Spanish, Hindi, Kazakh and Chinese were completed — 1885 strings. The achievements catalog is now localized into 15 languages.

Under the hood

  • Articles and release notes are now written in a WYSIWYG editor with autosave, images, tables, callouts and chess blocks — instead of raw HTML.

  • The 404 and error screens moved into the shared site shell, with the header, the footer and the right page language.

  • A single logo lockup shared by the header, the footer and the auth screen.

  • The design system is generated from a single source of truth instead of being kept in sync by hand.

  • Dead landing sections removed.
