1.14.1 — Public lessons, link previews and a single page width

Public lessons

Lessons on Chess Platform are created by coaches themselves: a starting position, a move tree with variations, comments, arrows and «find the move» exercises. Until now a finished lesson could be opened by a direct link, for a club or for a federation. Now a lesson has one more visibility mode — public.

• The lesson publishing panel now has a «Public» mode. The author selects it explicitly: lessons shared by link do not become public on their own.

• Published public lessons are collected into a catalog in the Learn section — 24 lessons per page, recently updated first. Each card shows the title, the description and the number of chapters.

• The lesson itself opens without signing in — a link is enough for the student. The catalog in the Learn section opens after signing in.

• If the author moves a lesson back to draft, archives it or changes its visibility, the lesson leaves the catalog. The author keeps access to their own lesson at all times.

• The new elements of the section are translated into all 12 interface languages of the site.

Lesson link previews

A lesson link sent to Telegram or another messenger expands into a card: the board, the lesson title, the author, the number of chapters and exercises.

• The board shows the starting position of the first chapter, not the position of an exercise: the preview does not reveal the solution. The board is turned to the side the lesson is studied from.

• The card is built for published lessons with «public» or «by link» visibility. Club, federation, private and draft lessons get a generic preview — without a position or a title.

Page width across the site

Public pages — News, What’s New, broadcasts, tournaments, matches, championships, coaches, pricing, legal documents and support — now share a single width and the same margins.

Body text in articles runs in a column of roughly 70 characters, while covers, tables and card grids take the full width of the page.
